Can you believe we now have a 9 month old? I mean where did the time go?? I have some really exciting (for us) news! He somewhat crawled!! Just a few days ago, he finally figured out that if he pushed with his feet while on his belly and pulled with his arms, he can get closer to his toys. LOL Jenevera was even trying to teach him how to properly crawl explaining and demonstrating. It was adorable.
How have you been? Anything new? How’s your garden? I would like to excitingly share that we have grown our first bean!! LOL I never thought I would be so excited about a vegetable in my house, but yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Yik household now has a bean. Literally, just one or two but we are incredibly proud of them.
For those of you who love our food posts – if you tried the last spring onion pancake recipe that I shared and thought that was good, you HAVE to try this one. It’s far superior! The dough rolled out so much better and the texture was incredible. Here’s the original recipe (https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/scallion-pancakes-2) and the next time we make it, I will film it as we made some variations to it. This past week was a little crazy with tons of meetings but on the weekends I get back into my cooking groove. What’s your favourite dried bean recipe? I have a few bags left from when we did our first lockdown pantry stock up so I would like to use some of them up. So far, I made a white bean and ham soup, stove top beans and put some into my tomato-based sauces. Jenevera hasn’t been a huge fan of any of those recipes, so if you have a kid-approved one, please send it my way!
